About Us

Megan

Growing up in North Queensland, Megan spent much of her time hunting, fishing and crabbing. It is a love that she and her husband  share, and have now passed down to their two daughters. It was only natural that Megan would eventually create a business where she could work amongst her passions.

After leaving high school, Megan attained her trade certificate in sheet metal and worked within the industry for a number of years. However, being most comfortable in a work shirt, she was unable to sit still for long in 2020 after her second daughter was born.

In no time, she was fabricating custom pieces for her mates in between changing nappies. It wasn’t long before her designs, in particular her crab cooker, had a long list of orders.

What began as a project in a single bay garage to maintain her sanity, quickly became the business we now know as Iron & Bark. In 2021 Megan and Mark built a new workshop on their property which Megan works out of with her apprentice Amber.

Amber

Amber joined the Iron & Bark team in January 2022 as part of a school-based apprenticeship.

It didn’t take long before this larger than life character became part of the family.

She even convinced Megan to create a TikTok!

It’s hard to tell who is the bad influence, but it’s entertaining to watch.

Amber has always been up for any adventure and loves horses, motorbikes, water-skiing, camping and taking unflattering photos of Megan.

We can’t wait to see Amber progress in her trade and one day create a passion project of her own.
